Tom Griffin
Vice President, Health and Beauty Care (HBC), Active Nutrition, and Our Brands
-
Where did you go to school?I attended St. Bonaventure University, where I studied Business Management.
-
Describe your work history?I have had very robust and diverse experiences for 20 years at Procter & Gamble, leading teams and calling on the U.S.'s largest retailers. After P&G, I transitioned into consulting, focusing on preparing startups for mass retail, ensuring they were ready for the challenges and opportunities of large-scale distribution.
-
Tell us about your family?I enjoy spending time with my wife, Meghan, and our 11-year-old daughter, Kate, who is very much into dance. We also have two dogs, Rocky and Apollo, named after the movie franchise.
-
Do you have any hobbies?Fitness is a major hobby of mine. I have previously run five marathons and love doing CrossFit and bodybuilding. I am an early adopter in the fitness culture, and I am very fortunate to work on the forefront of innovation in this category.
-
What would accompany you if stranded on a desert island? If I were stranded on a desert island, I’d want a survival guidebook, a multi-tool, a water purification system, a durable shelter, and a solar-powered satellite phone. To keep things interesting, I’d bring a lifetime supply of my favorite high-protein yogurt for gains (because even on a desert island, gains are important) and a solar-powered playlist for motivation and entertainment. And perhaps a volleyball named Wilson to keep me company and maintain a sense of humor amidst the solitude! Plus, a set of resistance bands—because leg day is still important, even on a desert island.
Kris Durstock
Vice President, Grocery, Active Nutrition and Our Brands
-
Where did you go to school?Kris graduated from Wittenberg University.
-
Describe your work history?Kris started his career after college in Finance working for Provident and National City Bank in Cincinnati. Roles at Kroger included Buyer, Category Manager, Assortment Manager, Sales and Promotions Manager, Sourcing, and Our Brands Category Strategy Manager.
-
Tell us about your family?Kris has been married to Carolyn for 15 years and they have two children Grant & Gwen. Their Mini Golden Doodle, Louie, rounds out the family.
-
Do you have any hobbies?Kris enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and being outside. He has volunteered in several capacities at his school and church including coaching, running a youth basketball program, Athletics Booster President, and chairing their annual Church Festival. They have a problem as a family as saying “NO” to opportunities to volunteer so you will often find them on a sideline, in a community meeting, or lending a helping hand.
-
What would accompany you if stranded on a desert island?Kris would bring someone calm and someone scrappy. Calm keeps everyone level, scrappy gets you off the island. Also, the person who always says ‘we’ll figure it out’ — and then actually does. I would then be the one passing out refreshments from the cooler and making sure the music is keeping everyone energized.
